The place of Kirk Cousins in the hearts of Vikings fans can be tough to gauge at times. Some fans remember him as someone who ushered in a new era for the team, as they are now in a position to bring in notable free agents and trade for big-time players if need be. However, he was also someone who flirted with greatness for the team, but never was able to get this team over the hump.
Regardless of how you feel about him, Vikings fans, Kirk Cousins is still a sought-after signal caller in the NFL.
Case in point being the words of Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay during the NFL’s Annual League Meeting. While making an appearance on Pro Football Talk, McVay was asked about the Rams’ quarterback depth chart and hinted at the team signing Jimmy Garoppolo or Kirk Cousins.

He explains, “We would love to be able to have him (Garoppolo). There’s some other guys that are out there, but we do need to be able to add another guy into that room. And that’s something that we’re looking at, and obviously, people make some of the connections with Kirk (Cousins). . .Kirk is as influential as anybody in helping me… get to L.A. in the first place. And so, you know, I know he’s got some other options and some other suitors, but Jimmy and Kirk are guys that I would love to be able to have back with us.”
Cousins has been attached to several teams beyond the Rams, as McVay mentions. Those teams include the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets. Both teams have acquired, or will draft, a quarterback. Regardless, he has value, and coaches like McVay realize that.
