The Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) is getting ready to crown its third champion — BYU and Columbia will go head-to-head for the title Wednesday.
Thirty-two teams started out in this bracket less than two weeks ago, and now only two remain. BYU has made a solid campaign, routing Alabama A&M in the first round and pulling off wins over Missouri, Stanford and Kansas in the following rounds.
Columbia has made an impressive run as a fourth seed, upsetting top-seeded North Dakota State in the quarterfinals, 86-57. Despite being an underdog on paper, the Lions have proven they have enough grit to go all the way in this competition.
