American Hailey Baptiste has played outstanding tennis this spring including an upset win over WTA World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in Madrid.
Baptiste defeated two-time Grand Slam singles champion Barbora Krejcikova in the first round and looked poised to make a deep run.

Navarro and Jovic are playing each other for the second time in a week. At the Strasbourg Open, Navarro got the win over the American teenager.

Conditions are problemmatic, and a freak accident already happened
Heat is a problem, and it nearly cost Jakub Mensik the match. He collapsed after his marathon five set victory and needed medical attention to get off the court.
Alexander Blockx, the 21-year-old Belgian who has also had a great spring, injured his ankle in practice with Joao Fonseca. It occurred near the tarps at the back of the court. In addition to withdrawing from the tournament, he may reportedly seek legal action against Roland Garros.
