Angel Reese has an unexpectedly interesting academic background. As Team USA gears up for the FIBA World Cup quarterfinals, a fun activity revealed the scholastic attainment of some of its stars.
The official X handle of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup recently shared a video featuring eight Team USA stars discussing their educational backgrounds. Captain Breanna Stewart said she majored in communications, while Angel Reese holds a degree in interdisciplinary studies.

Paige Bueckers shares a similar academic background with Napheesa Collier. Although both majored in human development and family studies, Collier also studied social science in college.
Kahleah Copper and Kiki Iriafen have two of the most interesting academic backgrounds. They majored in criminal justice and mechanical engineering, respectively. The other two stars in the video were Sonia Citron and Aliyah Boston, who respectively earned degrees in management consulting and mass communication.
Where Did Caitlin Clark And Remaining Team USA Stars Go To College?
While the video shared by the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup included more than half of the team, it still had some notable omissions. The players missing from the footage were Caitlin Clark, Chelsea Gray, Jackie Young, and Rhyne Howard.
While attending the University of Iowa, Clark majored in marketing at the Tippie College of Business. She also earned a minor in communications. Meanwhile, veteran point guard Gray majored in sociology at Duke University.
While Rhyne Howard graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in digital media and design, Jackie Young did not officially complete a degree despite attending the University of Notre Dame.
Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese And Team USA Set For FIBA World Cup Knockout Stage
After a dominant sweep in the group stage, the Americans are gearing up for the knockout stage at the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. They will meet Hungary in the quarterfinals on September 10.
Team USA started its campaign with a staggering victory against China in the first group-stage game. However, they narrowly defeated Italy in the second game, with stars like Caitlin Clark struggling to score from the field.
Breanna Stewart and Co. led Team USA to a clean sweep of the group stage after a victory over Czechia. Clark and Reese displayed highlight-reel chemistry on the court, which drew praise from fans and critics alike.
If Team USA defeats Hungary in the quarterfinals, the team will advance to the semifinals, where it will face either Spain or the winner of Australia vs. Italy on September 12.
