SIOUX FALLS (KELO) – #1 Brandon Valley is preparing for a home matchup against #2 Jefferson in KELO’s Game of the Week on Friday.
Not only is it a top-two matchup in class 11AAA, but also homecoming for Brandon Valley, which will draw even more of a crowd.
“Yeah, it’s a big game, but at the same time, just 1-0 guys,” said Christensen in an interview with KELO on Wednesday. “You can’t win more than one game tonight. Can’t compete in more than one quarter, one play. It’ll be crazy. Yeah. We’ll have all kinds of fans there. They travel extremely well. They always have. It’s a testament to their culture and a testament to ours.”
On the other side, Jefferson is looking to keep things rolling after a dominant 42-14 victory over Lincoln in the President’s Bowl on Saturday. Preparing for a team like the Lynx, however, comes with totally different territory.
“Brandon Valley’s kind of a whole different animal with what they do offensively,” said Struck in an interview with KELO on Tuesday. “As far as, you know, they’re more a heavier personnel, two tight ends or even a fullback, which you don’t really ever see anymore. Lots of movement on their offense and on that physical, downhill run game within some big play action passes.”
The game is set to kick off at 6 p.m. on Friday from Brandon Valley High School Stadium, and will be streamed on KELOLAND.com, KELOLAND+, and KELOXTRA.
