ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) 2026-27 Preseason Polls and awards have been announced, with Augustana picked to finish fourth in the coaches’ and third in the media. Hayden Hennen and Owen Baumgartner were both selected to the Preseason All-CCHA Team.
The Vikings picked up 57 votes in the coaches’ poll and were selected to finish fourth. Michigan Tech led the charge with 65 votes and four first-place votes. Bowling Green was selected to finish second with two first-place votes, while Minnesota State rounded out the top three with 59 votes and two first-place votes.
In the media polls, Augustana was picked to finish third with 107 points and two first-place votes, behind Michigan Tech with 116 points and four first-place votes and Minnesota State with 113 points and six first-place votes.
Hayden Hennen earned a spot on the Coaches and Media Preseason All-CCHA Team after finishing the 2025-26 season with 15 points in 37 games. The Hallock, Minnesota, native has recorded 44 points in the Blue and Gold through 103 career games.
Owen Baumgartner finished on the Media Preseason All-CCHA Team. He was one of four defensemen selected after he finished the 2025-26 season with 21 points in 31 games.
Head coach Garrett Raboin announced the addition of eight Vikings ahead of the fourth season in program history. The Vikings will roster 28 student-athletes.
