WNBA star Caitlin Clark is giving fans another look at her highly anticipated Nike Caitlin 1 signature shoe, and this latest colorway has a very personal connection.
The Indiana Fever star showed off a red-and-gold version of the sneaker inspired by her favorite NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs. The color scheme gives Clark’s first signature shoe another unique connection to her interests away from basketball.

Clark’s Chiefs fandom comes to her signature shoe

The upcoming Caitlin 1 colorway features a predominantly red design with gold detailing, immediately bringing the Chiefs to mind. Black accents around the oversized Swoosh provide some contrast, while additional metallic details appear around Clark’s signature branding.
The connection is intentional. Clark has been a longtime Chiefs supporter, and Nike has incorporated that fandom into one of the colorways of her first signature sneaker. The design does not use official Chiefs or NFL branding, but the red-and-gold combination makes the inspiration fairly clear.
It also fits with Nike’s broader approach to Clark’s signature collection. Rather than simply producing one shoe in a handful of standard colors, the company has been building different versions around Clark’s personality, interests, and career.
That includes other special designs that have already generated attention, including Team USA-inspired player exclusives and colorways connected to different parts of Clark’s story.
Nike Caitlin 1 is almost here

The timing of the reveal is significant because Clark’s signature shoe is nearly ready for its public launch.
Nike officially announced that the Caitlin 1 will be available globally beginning October 1, with a retail price of $140. The collection will include the signature sneaker along with 18 pieces of apparel.
The Caitlin 1 was designed specifically around Clark’s game, featuring Nike’s Opticast upper, a forefoot Air Zoom Turbo unit, and Cushlon foam. Nike also incorporated several personal touches, including Clark’s signature logo, stacked Swooshes, and design elements representing three-point arcs and her No. 22.
The Chiefs-inspired colorway is currently expected to arrive during the holiday season, although an exact release date has not been announced.
For Clark, the signature line is becoming more than just a basketball shoe. Each new colorway gives fans another piece of her personality—and this Chiefs-inspired version may be one of the most recognizable yet.
