Mason Rudolph has been linked as a possible trade candidate for the Pittsburgh Steelers over the past several months, and a landing spot has quietly emerged in the NFC North.
Following a quarterback crisis within the Chicago Bears organization, specifically when it pertains to injuries plaguing Caleb Williams (hamstring) and Tyson Bagent (concussion), the Steelers would be wise to offer up Rudolph in exchange for a Day 3 pick.

Rudolph, who played with the Steelers (2018–2023, 2025–present) and Tennessee Titans (2024), is one of the most experienced backup quarterbacks in the NFL. In 35 games, including 19 starts, Rudolph has thrown for 4,925 yards and 30 touchdowns. He’s also amassed an 8-5-1 record as a starter with the Steelers.
Pittsburgh’s roster already features four quarterbacks, and it’s safe to say Aaron Rodgers and Drew Allar have their spots set in stone. That leaves Rudolph or Will Howard as potential trade options for the Bears.
Chicago may have Case Keenum as its third-string option, but a trade for Rudolph makes too much sense for a high-powered offense looking to win as many games as possible in Williams’ absence.
