Internet personality-turned-NASCAR driver Cleetus McFarland purchased a recognizable Cup Series stock car driven by his late friend, Greg Biffle. As part of the Mecum auction at Nashville Superspeedway, McFarland bought a 2004 No. 16 National Guard Ford, once piloted by Biffle in the Cup Series for Roush Fenway Racing.
RFK Racing, which was formerly Roush Fenway Racing, auctioned off a number of its cars from the organization’s collection. The proceeds from the sale of the Biffle car would benefit the Biffle Family Legacy Impact Fund.
Biffle, along with his wife Cristiana, his daughter, Emma, and their son, Ryder, were among seven killed in a plane crash on December 18, 2025 in Statesville, North Carolina. Biffle was 55 years old.
Cleetus McFarland purchases Biffle’s 2004 National Guard car
McFarland’s first bid on the 2004 No. 16 National Guard Ford (chassis RK-195) was $35,000. The YouTuber, whose real name is Garrett Mitchell, continued to up his bid and ultimately took home the iconic Biffle car for $47,000.
Biffle won two races during the 2004 Cup Series season. The specific RK-195 chassis purchased by McFarland never won a race but placed third in a 2005 Atlanta Cup Series race.
Jack Roush, who now co-owns RFK Racing with Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski, was in attendance for the monumental event in Nashville. In a Facebook post, Jordyn Biffle, Greg Biffle’s niece, expressed appreciation for Roush in pledging the money to the Biffle family’s fund.
“Thank you to Jack Roush and everyone at Roush for including Greg’s car and pledging the proceeds to the Biffle Family Legacy Impact Fund. We’re grateful for their support and proud to see this car continue to make a difference,” Jordyn Biffle said.
Cleetus McFarland returning to NASCAR at Talladega
Next month at Talladega Superspeedway, Cleetus McFarland will be back behind the wheel in NASCAR action. After a hiatus for the second half of 2026, McFarland will compete in the Craftsman Truck Series Love’s RV Stop 225 on Friday, October 23.
McFarland will pilot the No. 4 Niece Motorsports Chevrolet, a truck he made his Craftsman Truck Series debut in earlier this year at Daytona. Unfortunately, an early wreck in the race ended McFarland’s night in under 10 laps.
McFarland has made waves in NASCAR since coming on the ARCA Menards Series scene in 2025. Earlier this year, McFarland scored a fifth-place finish at Rockingham Speedway in the series and later backed it up with a runner-up effort at Talladega.
That same weekend at Rockingham Speedway in April, McFarland made his O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut behind the wheel of the No. 33 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. McFarland also fielded the No. 33 in the O’Reilly Series race at Nashville Superspeedway.
