Initial reactions and Observations
- Germany taste defeat to Greece for the first time ever.
- The Germans looked completely out of sorts. Most of them had no idea where to play the ball, missed runs made by their teammates, and so much more.
- That said, this is not the final team for Jürgen Klopp. He’s still getting a feel of the players and doing it in a low-stakes game like in the Nations League—a competition that shouldn’t be taken seriously—isn’t always a bad idea. That means some of these players will have to work harder to have any chance of earning Germany caps if Klopp drops them.

Halftime Observations
- Germany’s quality on paper should be enough to beat Greece, but how the players are playing would suggest that they are 3. Liga quality at best.
- Karim Adeyemi had some of the best chances to put Germany ahead, but he’s just another Leroy Sane with his finishing and decision-making.
- Joshua Kimmich is one of only a few trying to make something happen. Everyone else is more or less a pedestrian.

Younes Ebnoutalib starts up front while Bayern Munich has three representatives in the starting XI in the form of Joshua Kimmich, Nathaniel Brown, and Jonathan Tah. Serge Gnabry and Florian Wirtz are on the bench.
Germany kickstarted the Jürgen Klopp era with a 1-1 draw with neighbors and fierce rivals Netherlands in the group stage of the UEFA Nations League. Felix Nmecha gave the Germans the lead before a late Cody Gakpo strike meant the points were shared between the two teams.
Die Mannschaft will host Greece in Augsburg today as “Kloppo” is still in the process of sorting out his preferred starting XI. Although that won’t be decided immediately, the 59-year-old would still like a win under his belt.

Germany wins 2-1. Chris Führich and Joshua Kimmich will both score to top off their impressive performances on the night. Konstantinos Karetsas will pull one back in the dying minutes, but Germany will hold on for the win.
